Why You Don’t Need Motivation to Get Things Done

It could be finishing an art piece, doing the dishes, or just getting a work project done.

But you really don’t need motivation.

And I think it’s easy to believe the idea that there’s just “something wrong me,” when you don’t have any motivation to do the things you’re constantly putting off.

Or you feel discouraged as you go into another new year without having accomplished any of your goals or dreams.

But I promise you, there is nothing wrong with you.

I think a better and more simplifying way to look at it is through the lens of discipline.

You do things that you don’t want to do because you know it needs to be done.

So for instance, there are probably things you already do each and every day that you don’t always feel like doing.

Things Like…

  • Making food.
  • Combing your hair.
  • Going to bed a bit early.
  • Waking up at a specific time.
  • Calling someone.
  • Getting groceries.

You already do so many things right, you have discipline.

Now it’s just time to apply it to other places in your life that you’ve felt like you needed motivation for.

And I think that when you fully adopt this mindset of, “Well I do it because I just do,” and you focus on the end results, that’s when life really becomes fulfilling.

So again, I’m going to say it, and ignore what others might tell you, you don’t need motivation to get things done.

You are powerful enough to make the right decisions to take care of your future self.

You’re not a mess up, you just need a different way of looking at things. 🙂
