We all want to get ahead in life and thankfully, there are some people who have already done it before us. And the best part is, you don’t have wait till you’re 60 years old to get there!

And down below, I’ve gathered some good habits that will help you rich at any age!

Important Side Note:

If you’re in debt, then I would definitely read Dave Ramsey’s book The Total Money Makeover which you can check out here. He’s helped MILLIONS of people climb their way out of debt and have financial peace and security. So DEFINITELY check him out!

Also! He has another great book called the Legacy Journey which is a great read. Check it out here!

First Thing’s First: Normally we all spend everything we have once we get paid. But the first thing you need to do on your journey to wealth is to learn how to manage your finances. Grow a mindset for saving and managing money properly, otherwise, it won’t matter how much you make if it’s already all spent.

Quick Note!

Avoid Credit Card Balances: One of the best ways to achieve your financial goals is to never carry around a credit card balance. What with high-interest rates and monthly payments, this will always be eating away at your savings if you do this. Instead, build an emergency fund so you don’t have to use credit

Set Your Goals: Setting SMART goals (S – Specific, M – Measurable, – A – Attainable, R – Realistic, T – Time Phrame) is one of the best ways to get to your dream life. People who don’t set goals for what they want and how they’ll get there are much less likely to actually achieve them. And if you want a higher chance of achieving your dreams, then this needs to be one of your top priorities.

Surround Yourself With Those Who Are Already There – Want to know how to actually get rich? Listen to talks and podcast interviews and read articles of people who have already done it… constantly. Look for people in your community who are at the financial status you want to acquire and get to know them and ask questions. Surround yourself with wisdom and you’re going to get there a lot faster.

Increase Your Income: If you find that your annual income is NOT going to get you to where you want to go, then definitely look for income streams that will feed into your wealth. I know single moms who have started a blog and make over $10k a month (hey, it’s how I make my living!). Or people who knew nothing about real estate (let alone had the money), but were able to buy properties and become wealthy. There are honestly so many choices when you do a little research!

PS – If you’re interested in that last part, then I would listen to the Bigger Pockets Podcast; they have SO many stories of people who have made it in real estate.

Invest: One of the smartest things I read on Inc.com is to “save to invest, don’t save to save.” You want to make sure that your money is making money for you. That it’s working for you even when you sleep.

It seems nice to save money, but if it’s not growing, then it’s going to be hard to reach your financial goals.

If you’re looking for ways to get rich, then don’t worry, you don’t have to wait till you’re well past 50 to hit the beaches or go after your passions. You can start building wealth now and get there sooner than you think.
