18 Kitchen Cabinet Organization Ideas and Hacks to Keep Things Super Organized

Kitchen cabinet organization ideas that'll actually work. Use command hooks, clear bins, & magazine files to declutter, organize, and maximize every inch.

Some kitchen organization ideas.

When you have a well-organized kitchen, it kind of becomes the happiest spot in the home.

And while tidy countertops and a dishless sink are great, making sure your cabinets are organized really is the best. You hold nearly everything you need for cooking in these spaces, so having the best kitchen cabinet organization ideas really is a must.

You need to be able to easily find tools, utensils, and ingredients whenever you step into the kitchen. And if your cabinets are a mess, then it really is frustrating.

So if your cabinets are in need of a refresh and you’d like to free up some space, then these tips and tricks for keeping them organized are exactly what you need.

1. Use Containers to Store Bulk Foods

Stackable clear containers help free up the space in your cupboards and make finding the needed ingredients so much faster.

And on top of that, clear, airtight containers can help you store bulk foods (like nuts, seeds, beans, grains, cocoa powder, etc.) and extend their shelf life. And this is honestly so great for being able to shop in larger quantities and hopefully save a lot more money.

2. Create a Measurement and Conversion Chart in Your Cupboard

Have you ever been in the middle of making a recipe and then suddenly realized you needed to measure some ingredients but couldn’t find the right-sized spoon or cup?

Hunting for kitchen measurements or conversion charts won’t be an issue anymore with this really helpful hack. And if you’re looking for the best way to organize kitchen cabinets, then this should be at the top of your list.

3. Keep Pot Lids Organized With Command Hooks

Misplaced pot and pan lids can be so annoying! And trying to rummage through your cabinets to grab just the right size honestly isn’t fun. But this little hack will ensure they’re always in the right place and easy to find.

So try doing a simple DIY installation of command hooks to keep them handy and free up space.

4. Make Rolls of Foil and Plastic Wrap Easily Accessible

Double your storage space by putting foil and plastic wrap on the inside of a cabinet door. All you need is some self-adhesive hooks to keep them in place!

Also, this just looks like it makes grabbing some plastic wrap so much easier.

5. Repurpose Magazine Racks

Another option if you don’t want to install the rolls on the cabinet door with adhestive hooks is to repurpose your magazine racks (or buy some!).

It frees up cabinet space and gives you some extra storage for more important items.

6. Pretend Pull-Outs

Sometimes appliances and their parts can get lost in the dark corners of the cabinet. So to make them a lot more accessible, place them in plastic boxes with labels. This is especially great for rentals where you can’t make alterations and install pull-out shelving.

Update: Site not available.

7. Install Stacking Shelves

If you have a small kitchen with tall cupboards, get some stacking shelves to hold more dishes and take advantage of that unused vertical space.

This will take a messy cabinet and make it neatly organized while giving you more storage space.

8. Use an Under Sink Rod

You’ve probably noticed that even if you get your cupboard under the sink organized, it slowly starts to get messy all over again. But using a rod to hold the spray bottles is a great place to start if you wanna free up some space and keep things well organized.

Update: The site is no longer there.

9. Repurpose Magazine Files

Turning magazine files into water bottle and canned food holders is a great way to save space and make your cabinets tidier. Also, it’s just makes things so much easier to grab.

It’s probably one of my favorite ways to organize kitchen cabinets on this list.

10. Store Baking Sheets and Cutting Boards in Metal File Holders

Vertical storage is way more convenient than keeping your baking sheets and cutting boards in the drawers stacked up on each other. All you need are some organizer racks to create slots for various sizes of muffin tins, cookie sheets, and other baking pans.

11. Use Adhesive Hooks to Hang Oven Mitts and Hot Pads

Instead of stuffing your kitchen drawers with oven mitts and hot pads, try using an adhesive hook to hang them on the inside of a cabinet door. Now you’ll have more room to store more important appliances in your kitchen!

12. Spice and Baking Cabinet

Clear labeled containers are an aesthetically pleasing way to organize your cooking and baking supplies. Also, a Lazy Susan isn’t a bad way to keep your spices easy to grab (and it looks pretty darn cute too!).

So if you’re trying to read up on how to organize kitchen cupboards, then don’t skip this idea!

13. Cleaning Supplies Cabinet

If you’d like a handier option to store your dishwashing supplies (rather than crowding the counters), then a wire basket with adhesive hooks is a great way to go! It keeps it all in one place and frees up some space.

14. Baking and Prepping Supplies Organization

A great way to store your relatively flat/thin baking and prepping (cutting boards) supplies is to use dividers that’ll keep them vertical to allow for easy access and more storage space.

15. More Vertical Storage Solutions

Sorry, but I had to share this one as well. I thought that this simpler vertical solution was also a great idea! It looks like tension rods were used to keep things organized and looking nice.
