31 of My Favorite Beauty Reads for Makeup & Skincare

Make favorite reads and infographics for beauty tips and routines.

A beauty product and jewelry.

I love health and beauty tips and hacks; I’ll take whatever I can when it comes to skincare advice and saving money on overly expensive beauty products.

In fact, Iโ€™ve read too many of them, and by now my skin is probably wondering why Iโ€™m lathering coffee and oatmeal masks on it.

But in all seriousness, these tips can actually help you with your own skincare and makeup routine, saving you money and time.

As women, thereโ€™s a lot to keep track of, but if there are beauty hacks to make things easier, then Iโ€™m all for it. Give me those crazy scrubs and weird eyeliner tricks, I need all the help I can get!

25 Life-Changing Beauty Hacks

Green Tea Bags for Puffiness: When I first saw my sister do this, Iโ€™m pretty sure I gave her a funny look. But after learning about how the caffeine in green tea bags might actually help with dark circles and puffiness, I guess I realized she wasn’t so weird after all.

Eye Shadow for Thicker Hair: This is a simple and quick trick if you want to give the appearance of having thicker hair. Just take a small to medium sized brush, pick an eyeshadow that is very close to your own hair color, and then apply at the roots of where your hair parts. Itโ€™s as easy as that!

Nails in Cold Water: This was one of the first health and beauty tips I ever learned. When I was a kid, my sister (the same one with the tea bags) did my nails and taught me this hack. After coating your nails with polish, dip them into a pre-prepared bowl of ice water, and let them set for about a minute.

27 DIY Beauty Hacks Every Girl Should Know

Infographic showing how to make DIY gel liner.

Here are my favorite tips from this article!

Apply Glue Before Nail Polish: Glue is a cheaper alternative to products that do the exact same thing. All you have to do is apply some glue around your nails (on the skin), let it dry, and then apply the nail polish. Reason for this? Well once youโ€™re finished painting your nails, you can easily peel off the glue and there will be no nail polish on your skin.

Lipstick Hack: A lot of brands promise you a 24-hour lasting period, but we all know they’re liars. Thankfully though, thereโ€™s a hack for that (surprise surprise). Once youโ€™ve finished applying your lipstick, grab a tissue, and then lightly dust the tissue with translucent powder.

Use a Lighter to Create Gel Liner: This is probably one of the coolest beauty tips on this list. Just use a lighter to heat up a pencil eyeliner and it’ll quickly become a darker more intense color that’ll make your eyes pop!

I seriously appreciate Buzzfeed for this one. These products definitely up my beauty hack game. And itโ€™s true; I really do wish I had known about these sooner!

NYX Be Gone Lip Color Remover: You know how after you remove your lipstick, theyโ€™re stained with that color? Well this stuff takes care of that problem.

Shiseido Eye Smoother: Want to get rid of bags, dark circles, and laughing lines? Then apply these just under your eyes or around your mouth area to reduce laughing lines. This is such a great product that reduces signs of aging!

Berrisom Peel-Off Lip Stain: So I know I just talked about a lip stain remover, but this beauty product is awesome! It goes on like a jelly lip gloss, and then once itโ€™s done drying, you peal it off and you have an awesome lip color for around 12 hours. This is honestly great since I hate getting lipstick or gloss on my teeth.

When I was a young teenager, I didnโ€™t have the best skin hygiene. But if I had known about this beauty tip, I probably would have done it (especially since itโ€™s so easy).

Apply eye cream or serum to prevent collagen damage: The skin around your eyes is so delicate. You have to make sure that you take care of it very well and handle it gently so the elasticity doesnโ€™t wear out. Also, if you donโ€™t know already, your ring fingers are your most gentle fingers to use when touching your eye area.

Sleep is so incredibly important for your self-care and physical appearance.

As stated in a 2010 study, “Our findings show that sleep deprived people appear less healthy, less attractive, and more tired compared with when they are well rested. This suggests that humans are sensitive to sleep related facial cues-“

So make sure you’re getting enough sleep every single night!
