Winter is a difficult time of the year, but as Alfred Wainwright said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.”
And while that might not always feel like the case when you’re scraping ice off your window at 7:30 in the morning before work, it is true that having the right winter ready wardrobe can make a big difference!
Even if the cold temperatures seem a bit too much, these winter hacks should make your life a lot easier during the colder months.
So keep warm with these cold weather hacks and enjoy this season just a little bit more!
1. Keep Feet Warm With Wool Felt
Whether it’s wool felt, an old sweater, or a fabric of your choice, you can keep your feet warm by quickly cutting out and adding some to the sole of your shoes.

Before you head outside with your cold weather clothes, try to warm them up first.
Simply go over them with a blow dryer or just toss them in the clothing dryer. Warm up all of your inner layers and even your pants. You’ll be thankful later!
3. Wrap Your Scarf Like This for ExtraWarmth
Sometimes it can feel like a hassle to find the best way to wrap a scarf around your neck to keep the cold out.
But thankfully, this simple style is a great way to keep your neck and chest warm.

Accidents happen when doing the laundry and sometimes it’s your favorite sweater shrinking.
So before you get rid of that knit and toss it into the donation pile, I’ve found a pretty simple solution.
Down below is a link to a tutorial that’ll show you how to un-shrink your wool sweater with just hair conditioner and lukewarm water.

Now the whole look with boots and knit socks is cute, but sometimes it can feel a bit too warm. Or sometimes they can be too thick to fit into your boots.
And that’s why I love this tutorial on how to easily turn your sweater into boot cuffs.

To complete your overall winter look, make your shoes waterproof!
Just rub the beeswax on your shoes, make sure it covers the entire area where moisture could soak through, and blow dry to seal the deal.
Now you don’t have to worry if it rains, snows, or if icy water splashes on your shoes!
7. Run a Dryer Sheet Over Your Hair or Hats
Before you put a beanie or a hat on, make sure to run your hair over with a dryer sheet.
This will keep it from getting static and giving you a bad hair day once you pull it off.
8. Use Pool Noodles to Keep Boots Upright
Boots tend to slouch over and get ugly creases, so cutting up a pool noodle and placing the pieces inside to keep them upright is a pretty smart hack! Also, I’m pretty sure that you can get them on discount since it’s the off-season.
9. Soften Itchy Fabrics
You obviously don’t want to wear an itchy sweater no matter how cute it is. But there’s a way to fix the itch!
You just need some hair conditioner, distilled white vinegar, water, a freezer, and the tutorial below which will show you how to pull it off.
It’s a great way to calm the itch, and you can go back to looking stylish without the discomfort.
