7 Foods That Can Erase a Day of Unhealthy Eating
Ok, FIRST OFF, I just wanted to let you know that I think it’s pretty cool that you want to take care of your health.
Sometimes it’s easy to feel bad about messing up with your weight loss or fitness plan, but just know that that doesn’t make you dumb or a failure. In fact, it just makes you normal.
Like it’s normal to mess up. You. Are. Normal.
Now, with that out of the way, I just thought I’d give you a bit of help with getting back on track. Because what feels better than taking in ingredients and foods that just makes you feel good?
Ok, there are probably a LOT of other things that feel better, but that’s beside the point. 😅
So! Let’s get you back on track and feeling good again. 😊❤️

1. Chia Seeds Because They’re Easy 👍
I love chia seeds because not only are they packed with antioxidants and fiber (study), but they’re also SUPER easy to just add to things.
So for instance…
- Your water
- TAKE YOUR PICK.
Oh, and it can help with bloating and that no-so-healthy feeling you have the next day after eating 7 SLICES OF PIZZA.
And lastly, with that fiber, they also help you stay fuller longer (study), which is a plus if you’re trying to take in fewer calories. 👌
2. Flax Seeds 😬
Ugh, ok, not as crazy about flax seeds. My mom would put them in cookies to be all “healthy,” and it just didn’t work for me. I’m sorry, I don’t want to be healthy when I eat cookies. 😂
BUT! I will share what you can put them in and you can test it out yourself to see if it works:
- Hot or cold cereal
- Different baked goods
Oh, and here are the benefits. 😊
Ok, so flax seeds are high in essential omega fatty acids (source), which Harvard states is great for heart health, preventing cancer, and a lot more. Also, being rich in fiber (source) and other nutrients, you’ll definitely want to add these to your breakfast to help your body feel better after a night out with friends.
3. Detox Water 👌
So I know that detox water has been talked about for… years. But it is a great and fast way to hydrate your body + gets some nice nutrients and antioxidants into your body.
I mean, all you have to do is cut up some fruit (as an example), pop it in some water, and relax on the couch while you scroll through your phone. Pretty nice way to unwind and feel good at the same time. 🤷♀️
Here are some ingredients you can put in for a very simple detox:
- Mint Leaves
So, basically, the day after you take in plenty of delicious but unhealthy dishes, you can flood your system with detox water to start feeling better quickly. 😊
4. Aloe Vera (Also How to Actually Incorporate it Into Food) 👍
I love aloe vera juices. Like the kind you get from Asian grocery stores. They taste just so so good. 👌
BUT, if you want an alternative that’s a bit healthier, then you can scoop it out of the plant itself and put in some juice or water or a smoothie. Very simple and fun to eat!
Now, but you might be thinking, “I don’t have an aloe vera plant, where the heck do I buy it for eating?” I got you.
Amazon and some Walmarts and Whole Foods sell aloe vera for consumption.
Oh, and here’s a good tutorial on how to scoop it out. 🙂
5. Apples 🍎 🍎 🍎
The 🍎 emoji is kinda cute. 😂
Also, if you’re eating less, this also means your body gets a chance to relax and detox (in a way) after unhealthy eating. Basically, you’re just putting good nutrients into your body. So it’s a win-win.
And if you want something to pair with it so you’re not just eating an apple, try cutting it up and putting honey and cinnamon on top. Or peanut butter for protein! 🙂
6. Broth (It’s Actually Pretty Cool!)
Broth is honestly amazing.
There are SO many nutrients found in broth and it’s a great way to get some protein and vitamins into your body (study).
It’s such a good way to do a reset after going to the Cheesecake factory and eating close to 3,000 calories (yeah, I’m definitely not talking about myself 😬 😂).
Fish or chicken brother are great options and also easy to find at the store! And you can just put it in a mug, you don’t have to sit down with a bowl and spoon; pretty easy!
7. Apple Cider Vinegar 🤷♀️
Why that emoji? Well… because it’s not the easiest to drink (I usually just take a small shot of it and then it’s done). But it does have good health benefits!
Basically, apple cider vinegar has been shown in a small study to help improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar (study).
And, it’s also a great way to increase the good bacteria in your gut which is essential for keeping you healthy (source) and can help you stay slim (study). So definitely add a tablespoon to your water (or take a small shot of a couple of tablespoons or so like me) so that you can start feeling a lot better. 😊
Ok, so I hope this was VERY helpful for you and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
