It’s that time of year again. Spring Break! After a long hard winter semester, spring break is an opportunity to cut loose and have some fun. And if you’re a student, the chances are that money is a bit on the tight side. So here are the top 10 Spring Break destinations to visit on a budget.

Loa Angeles, California

From beaches that buzz with life and fun to the movies and a whole bunch of craziness in between, LA is the kind of town that can pretty much offer you whatever you want. With a little research and planning you can experience the city of Angels on a budget that suits your needs.

South Padre Island, Texas

A barrier island on the very southern edge of Texas, South Padre is a classic and budget-friendly place to go for spring break. Go swimming in the sea and take in the vibe. Also, nightlife on this little island is buzzing, but there is so much more to this place than just the booze and parties (like horseback riding on the beach and dolphin watching).

Montreal, Canada

If you’re looking to do something a little different with your break, then Montreal might be the place for you. This city is for those who long to travel around Europe, but can’t quite stretch the budget that far. With French speaking locals and architecture that echoes that of Europe, Montreal has much to offer those who want more of a cultured experience. There are hundreds of affordable places to stay and enough to see and do to keep you busy without too much outlay (also, it’s a great place for foodies!).

Daytona Beach, Florida

Many refer to this place as the original Spring Break destination. Daytona Beach is famous because of the way the sand is packed which means you can drive along it. There are buses that run its length and even better; they’re free! Also, if you’re into motor sports, then this is the place to go!

Big Island, Hawaii

With beautiful weather all year round, Hawaii is an ideal destination for a little break. The busy season ends after March which means that you’ll avoid the crowds. And it also means that there is a big potential for big savings on your accommodations and travel expenses.

Point Pleasant, New Jersey

Point Pleasant is well known as a destination in the summertime, which means you can expect a healthy discount for spring break. Hotel rooms, just a block or two away from the beach can be reduced by as much as a thirds! An absolute bargain!

Savannah, Georgia

If you fancy something a bit more refined than nonstop partying, then consider Savannah. Full of 18th century charm and elegance and some beautiful city parks, Savannah is the place to go. And if you still want a bit of beach time, then there are several options for that too.

San Diego, California

As the southern most big city on the west coast, San Diego has a slightly exotic vibe and year round great weather. With big wide sandy beaches that stretch for miles and Balboa Park (which is actually bigger than NYC’s Central Park!) in the middle of the city, you can enjoy your time here without spending a ton of money. Also, there are some great deals to be had in terms of hotels and some excellently priced restaurants to be found.

Washington, D.C.

Although it may be notoriously expensive to live there, Washington is a remarkably affordable tourist destination. There are so many free attractions to enjoy that you’ll do well to see it all. The prestige and history of the nations capital is well worth experiencing. But avoid staying in Northwest because hotel prices here can make you weep.

Whatever your budget, there are unforgettable breaks to be had this spring. And whatever you feel like doing, you are bound to find somewhere out there that is perfect for you. So enjoy your time and have fun!
