We all love the holiday comfort food and more often than not, we end up putting on a few extra pounds due to feasting on the scrumptious food. And burning the calories seems to be way harder than gaining them. But don’t worry since we have compiled a list of foods for you that’ll help you destroy all the weight gained during the holiday season.

Quick Important Note:

If you want an AWESOME guide that’ll help you lose weight (even when you’re eating out), then check out Eat This, Not That! here.

Basically… you don’t need to diet to lose weight and can STILL go to McDonald’s.

Nuts: Almonds, pistachios, walnuts and other kinds of nuts are a great snack to munch on. Besides tasting great, nuts provide the body with some major nutrients it needs. Nuts can help reduce fat faster than a carb-based diet. They are also healthier than their grain-based counterparts as they are rich in monosaturated fats.

Side Note!

Mushrooms: Mushrooms have immense nutritional value as they are rich in protein, which is the reason why they are loved by vegetarians. Mushrooms have been known to promote weight loss by regulating the levels of glucose in the blood. They are the perfect food to destroy the holiday weight gain.

Olive Oil: Ditch the regular cooking oils and try incorporating olive oil into your diet as much as you can. Plant based oils such as extra-virgin olive oil can satisfy your hunger while helping you lose weight. Prepare an oil salad dressing and enjoy that rather than eating deep fried foods and you’ll shed those extra pounds in no time.

Cucumbers: Cucumbers are one of the best known foods out there that are known for their detoxifying capabilities. Cucumbers are low in calories yet high in fiber and water, thus, they fill you up and can be consumed as a healthy mid-meal snack.

Avocadoes: Avocadoes are a food that is loved by many. They are rich in monosaturated fats, dietary fiber, and potassium. This green superfood is a great food to incorporate into your everyday diet to lose weight and have a lower body mass index.

Apples: The saying ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ was not all bogus. Apples contain pectin that slows the rate of digestion and gives a feeling of fullness, thus keeping you full for a longer time. Apples are also a natural appetite suppressant and a great source of antioxidants and vitamin C. Eating apples is a great idea to help you with weight loss.

Oatmeal: Just a cup of oatmeal can provide you with as much protein as one egg. Also, oatmeal is a very popular and healthy breakfast meal. Eating it can result in feeling full and fewer calories eaten. You can add in some berries or nuts to make a more wholesome breakfast while not worrying about weight gain.

Beans: Beans are high in fiber, which is what you need when you’re trying to lose weight. Eating beans and other legumes help you maintain a healthier body as they lower your blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, and the risk of getting any cardiovascular diseases.

We hope that this list helps you figure out the perfect foods to incorporate into your diet in order to destroy that holiday weight gain!

nd you’ll shed those extra pounds in no time.
