Intermittent fasting (or IF) is one of the most popular methods for losing weight, and it really does work!

But whether intermittent fasting is effective or not depends on your commitment to following certain rules. And if you have doubts about doing it correctly, check out the following list of seven things you should never do while intermittent fasting.

If you want to add something to your drinks and food that keeps your skin looking younger and repairs your body (after working out), then I would seriously recommend collagen protein powder which you can check out here.

ALSO, this brand is specifically great since it’s flavorless (which is awesome since I hate adding things that make my favorite drinks and food taste horrible). So I would definitely check it out here and see how you feel and look after using it for a little while.

Starting an IF diet without advising a doctor: Intermittent fasting may not be suitable for everyone, so don’t decide on your own whether you can start this diet or not; especially if you’re underweight or have other health issues such as diabetes.

Drinking over 20 calories in liquids during fast: Some of you may be thinking you can drink as much as you want during fasting. This is only valid for non-caloric beverages like water, coffee, and tea. But you can’t drink them if you add sugar. Also, you can’t drink high-calorie liquids such as fruit juice, milk, protein shakes, etc.

Overdoing workouts: Exercise is essential for every weight loss program, but you shouldn’t go overboard. Workouts while fasting can be very risky because you have limited energy to exercise and straining yourself can make things even worse. Do very easy exercises like walking during the time of day you’re not fasting and don’t push it until you feel you’re ready.

Overeating: During intermittent fasting, you’ll get hungry. However, you need to be able to control yourself. Non-fasting hours aren’t hours where you can eat whatever you want. Stick to a well-balanced diet to see the best results.

Obsessing over food: During your fasting hours, you may tend to think more about food. By doing this, you only make things harder because your brain basically can’t think of anything else. Try finding new hobbies or distractions such as going to the cinema, painting, or finishing tasks around the house.

Not drinking enough water: Water is a basic need for our body, especially when you’re fasting. Intermittent fasting requires around 12-18 hours of abstaining from food, so your body will need water during these hours. Never neglect drinking water during the fast, and just know that it will also suppress your hunger.

Starting an IF plan that’s too much: Losing weight needs patience, but just because we want to lose weight as fast as possible, doesn’t mean we should choose the hardest diet program. The same goes for IF, starting with an 18/6 fast wouldn’t be the wisest move. Consider your lifestyle and the fact that you’re a beginner, and choose the best option that’s not going overboard.

Intermittent fasting is such a good way to lose weight, I would know, I’ve done it! So give it a try yourself and let us know how it goes!
