30 Spring Activities to Romanticize the Season

Spring activities to romanticize the season with fun outdoor moments, new hobbies, dinner parties, sunshine rituals, & simple ways to welcome in the season.

spring activities.

Spring is the perfect time for romanticizing your life. The weather is getting warmer (but not too warm), the trees and gardens are blossoming, and there are so many mini adventures you can go on.

You can finally hang up that heavy coat and opt for a light jacket or cardigan when you go on walks or coffee dates with friends.

Also, that might be why spring activities are my favorite; you get to spend more time outside soaking up the sun, planning out picnics, starting new rituals, and trying new hobbies. It’s your excuse for living out a bit of a main character existence while embracing the season.

So if you’re ready to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, create new routines, and spend more time outside, then these spring activities will make the next few months a lot more fun.

1. Start a “First Warm Day” Ritual

Whether you decide to do it solo or with a friend, create a “first warm day” ritual this springtime.

So for instance, once you get the first spring day hitting 70°F (or your version of warm), wear something kinda flowy, get a pastry and a coffee (or matcha), and sit somewhere beautiful. It’s your way of celebrating the fact that spring has finally come after a long winter, and it’s a very low-lift spring activity.

2. Curate a Spring Soundtrack for Walking

If you want to soak in the nice weather and spring vibes, then create your own walking soundtrack for casual strolls. So think French cafe jazz, Brazilian lo-fi, Italian classics, or anything else that’s going to make you feel like the main character in your own life. This playlist could also be used for other spring season activities as well like taking long drives with the windows down or relaxing on your balcony.

3. Create Your Own Spring Recipes

Whether it’s just 2-3 recipes or you make a bit of a mini cookbook this springtime, this year is your year for creating seasonal recipes. It’s such a fun way to play with in-season ingredients, flavors, and maybe edible flowers. This could also be a great weekend activity and a simple way to romanticize the season.

4. Press and Frame Flowers From a Walk

If you’re looking for fun things to do in the spring, then this should be at or near the top of your spring ideas list.

You get to turn a random Tuesday walk into a time for botanical art. So do a bit of planning, maybe grab an iced coffee, and head out to a trail or a flowering neighborhood. Then once you have your blooms, press and frame for some easy and aesthetically pleasing spring decor.

5. Host a Sunset Picnic With Just One Detail

This is a low-key gathering where you pick a pretty spot for golden hour, enjoy some simple food but have one elevated thing. So think linen napkins, handwritten place cards, or stemware for non-alcoholic drinks. It’s a nice way to get outdoors, enjoy good company, and celebrate the new season.

6. Have a Spring Picnic and Bring Books

This is a slow early afternoon activity where you bring a nice linen blanket, find a shady spot in a flowering park, maybe put on a good playlist, invite friends (or make it a solo date), bring some tasty snacks and drinks and spend hours reading a really good book.

You’re not in any rush, you’re just spending time enjoying the new season alone or with good company.

7. Start Dining Al Fresco Throughout the Week

This is your time to enjoy the al fresco season. So pick days in your week to eat outside and enjoy the warm weather by yourself or with a friend. This is one of my favorite things to do when the weather gets nice; it actually feels like an event.

So maybe grab a nice tablecloth, some china, put on a good playlist, and enjoy seasonal dishes and good vibes. It really is a total mood booster and a nice way to unplug.

8. Put Together Your Own Spring Uniform

This is your season to feel iconic. Pick out just one (or more) repeatable outfit and have it be your thing this spring. So for instance, you could put together some cute white trousers, a striped shirt, and a silk scarf.

9. Go on a Solo Cafe Date With a Book or Some Poetry

No phone, order something seasonal and aesthetic, and sit outside with a really good book or some beautiful poetry (here’s a list of some short poems you can check out). Also, don’t rush it, take your time and maybe make it a part of your weekly spring routine.

10. Rearrange Your Living Room for Light

As the weather warms up and there’s more sunlight, you can start rearranging your seating areas so they catch the light. So instead of having your couch and chair setup around the center of the room or near the fireplace, you might want to create a cozy situation by the warm light spilling in from your windows.

Also, you can open up the windows and enjoy the good breezes and fresh spring scents. Oh, and don’t forget to rotate art and bring some bright colors into your space. It’s a nice way to do a spring reset without buying anything.

11. Start a Micro Herb Garden

If you’re looking for things to do this spring that include some gardening, then starting your own micro herb garden is such a low-lift move. Also, it’s so nice to have some fresh basil or mint in the kitchen for your light and tasty spring meals.

12. Start Learning Flower Arranging

If you want to start a new hobby, then I think flower arranging is the most fun and spring thing you can do this year. You can head to a local flower market or a store like Trader Joe’s, pick out your favorite blooms, and practice arranging your own bouquets.

Also, it’s nice because you can create as many as you want and put them on places like the kitchen counter, your dining room table, or a living room side table.

And lastly, it’s a great spring activity since you can do it on the rainy days or when the sun is shining. It honestly doesn’t matter.

13. Wear Perfume Every Day (Even at Home)

Choose one or maybe two perfumes that become your spring 2026 scents. These are your signature scents that you wear when you’re exploring nature walks, going out to brunch with friends, or enjoying a good coffee in the morning.

14. Make a Spring Bucket List With Aesthetic Rules

This is your time to choose things that feel cinematic, not productive. You’re not putting things on your list like taking a weekly hike; only main character spring activities are allowed.

So this could be:

  • Day trips to really pretty locations
  • Picking wild flower with friends
  • Urban foraging
  • Spring brunches
  • Having a spring-themed movie marathon with friends

15. Try One New Seasonal Ingredient Each Week

Make a list of seasonal ingredients you’d like to try this spring. So think artichokes, asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, or fava beans. Then you can either do a bit of recipe creation or find a really beautiful spring recipe online. It’s a simple but enjoyable weekly spring ritual you can try this year.

16. Have a “No Black Clothing” Week

For just one week, force yourself into pretty creams, blush, sage, and sky blue. Yes, black is elegant and there’s nothing wrong with wearing it in the springtime, but try going at least one week without it. It’s a nice way to freshen up your look and really get into the springtime mood.

17. Wake Up Early One Morning Just to Watch the World Warm Up

Honestly, this might just be one of my favorite spring activities out there. It’s so nice to grab a hot coffee, maybe be barefoot, and watch the sunrise. You could even make it a ritual you do throughout the week and add other things to this activity.

18. Create a Spring Reading Stack

This spring, gather your own personal stack of good reads. This could be thin paperbacks, essays, magazines, poetry, or something that feels European. This doesn’t have to be for some sort of challenge or for anyone else but you and what will bring you joy this season.

19. Personalize Your Outdoor Space this Spring

Whether it’s under a tree, on your balcony, or by the poolside, start personalizing a space for yourself outdoors. This could include some cute chairs and a table, flowers, pretty lighting, and anything else that works for sunny spring days.

20. Have a Flower Market Date

Whether it’s a solo date, with a good friend, or your significant other, head to a cute flower market, maybe stop for coffee, and grab some pretty blooms. Then come home and either vase or rearrange and then vase them. It’s a nice way to stay active while still having fun.

21. Start a Seasonal Journal

You can title it: “Spring in ___.” And then record small observations, thoughts, and beautiful things each day. It’s also a nice way to have something lovely to look back at and reminisce about.

22. Have a Spring Themed Soirée

Soirées are such a nice way to celebrate the season. You can build out a mood board for the vibe you want to go for, plan out some really nice dishes, and invite good friends over for some great conversation. Also, if you want to learn more about how to pull one off, then here’s a simple guide on how to host a soirée.

23. Walk Somewhere You Normally Drive

This is the time to get outdoors and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot. Also, taking walks to places you’d normally drive is a great way to notice the flowers and blossoming trees while pretending you live in a European city for an afternoon.

24. Try a New Sport Just Because It Feels Kind of Springy

Whether it’s tennis, sailing lesson, or even pickleball, trying a new sport is a nice way to make sure you’re getting outside and staying active. Also, you might even make new friends while giving these sports a go.

25. Do a Spring Closet Edit and Keep It Romantic

Don’t declutter aggressively, just ask yourself, “Does this feel like April?” This is your time to put away the heavy sweaters and bring out the light blouses, flowy skirts, and linen trousers. Dress yourself like you’re the main character and maybe even get rid of some pieces that you know you’ll never wear (I guess it’s also a bit of spring cleaning?).

26. Make a Seasonal Signature Drink

I honestly think seasonal signature drinks are one of the best ways to romanticize the spring. You can get creative with pretty ingredients, maybe flowers, and enjoy it all season long. So for instance, you can create a signature drink that has strawberries, basil, and sparkling water.

Basically, as long as it’s refreshing and fits your palate, it’s perfect.

27. Take Film Photos Instead of iPhone Photos

This spring is the time to create that nostalgic feel and start taking film photos instead of iPhone photos. You could even just use one disposable camera for the season and then develop them only at the very end of spring. It’s a nice little surprise of all the small moments you captured.

28. Declare One Day a Slow Sunday Every Month

This Sunday is your time to cook from scratch, clean slowly, open windows, put on that spring playlist, and light a candle at dinner. No rushing, just setting aside time for you at home.

29. Go on a Day Trip to a Flowering State Park

Flowering state parks make for such a great day trip during the springtime. It’s a nice way to romanticize your life and get out of the home. Also, if you can, take a picnic basket and blanket and enjoy some really good food while being surrounded by flowers.

30. Host a Backyard Tea Party

I’m sorry, but this has to be one of the most feminine things you can do this spring. Just invite some close friends over, have a dress code, get out the nice china, buy some good teas, bake something nice, and enjoy a long afternoon.
