Hair is either a blessing, a curse, or somewhere in between.

But with whatever it is, there’s always a way to improve, style, and manage it. And whether that’s through styling hacks or using the right product, the hair care tips are almost endless.

I’ve always had long, thick, and fine hair, which can make it a bit interesting to care for. Fine hair means you have thin strands which also means your hair gets tangled up easily. And when there’s a lot of it, combing out your bedhead can be an interesting task. But thankfully I’ve found great hair care tips that have made it a lot simpler.

And no matter what type of hair you have, there’s always a hack or a fix for keeping it under control. So check out these awesome lists of hair care tips and styling hacks and see what works for you!

It shows you exactly what you need to know about each type, how to take care of thick or thin hair, and what to avoid so you don’t damage it.

I picked this specific hairstyle from their list because it really is easy. Whether your hair is straight or curly, it’s a quick hairdo that looks so pretty!

Bonus Hair Care Tips from Buzzfeed’s Article:

  • Apply dry shampoo the night before if you don’t have time the next morning to wash. It’ll keep it oil free and give it volume.
  • Use a toothbrush with hairspray for flyaways. It’s an easy fix and keeps those small strands under control.

17 Useful Hair Tricks for Anyone that Uses a Hair Straightener

Infographic for what hair straightener to use.
PHOTO: BUZZFEED

My favorite straightener tips from this article:

  • The highest you should ever set your flat iron should be 365°F, but if you have fine hair, the temperature should stay around 300 and 325 degrees. Now why is this important? Well hair burns at 451°F, so it’s important to keep that heat at a good temperature.
  • Know what hair straightener to use. Ceramic allows for an even distribution of heat, and has a lower potential to burn hair. Just make sure it’s fully ceramic because ceramic plating can chip and snag hair. Titanium heats up and transfers heat faster than ceramic. There is less potential to damage your hair, unless you leave it on your hair too long. And use tourmaline if you want shinier, straighter, and less frizzy hair. You get this from the crystalline minerals that are crushed up and used to coat the plates of the straightener.

18 Life-Changing Hacks for Curly Hair

A towel and a shirt for drying hair.

Here are a few of my favorite hair care tips for curly hair from this article:

  • Before you step into the shower, go ahead and apply a deep conditioner. Then get a shower cap and tuck it all in. While you’re washing your body, the steam from the shower will help the moisture from the conditioner to soak up and lock into your hair. Then you can finish up and wash out your hair as normal.
  • Instead of a towel, use a T-shirt to wring your hair out. The T-shirt will help prevent tangles and frizz, but a towel will take in too much moisture from your hair and cause frizziness. Also, the T-shirt will keep your curls smooth once completely dry.

20 of the Best Hair Tips You’ll Ever Read

Hair care tip on using conditioner.

Make sure to only condition the bottom ½ to ¾ of your hair. Your scalp already produces oils which means your hair by the roots will become oily much faster. So if you want your clean hair to last longer, then make sure you avoid the scalp.
