Being stuck at home isn’t just something that occurs due to a pandemic. There can be a variety of reasons you’d be at home, such as bad weather or workplace closure. However, that doesn’t mean you need to lose out on weight loss. So here are just a few great ways you can lose weight from the comfort of your own home.

Warning: If you suffer from health-related issues, then make sure to check with a doctor before trying any of these things.

Quick Tip

If you want to add something to your drinks and food that keeps your skin looking younger, repairs your body (after working out), AND gives you energy throughout the day, then I would seriously recommend collagen protein powder which you can check out here.

ALSO, this brand is specifically great since it’s flavorless (which is awesome since I hate adding things that make my favorite drinks and food taste horrible). So I would definitely check it out here and see how you feel and look after using it for a little while.

Cardio

Cardio isn’t just something you do at the gym. There are ways of doing cardio at home too. The NHS recommends 10 minutes per day for optimum health. You can achieve this by doing exercises such as rocket jumps, squats, and burpees.

Eat More Protein

By eating more protein, you are more likely to get rid of fat and build lean muscle. With your fridge and freezer at your disposal, there is no excuse to not start cooking up more protein-based meals and ditching the junk.

Drink More Water

Keep a glass beside you and drink that rather than other beverages. Working from home? Water. Mad video gaming session? Water. Movies with your other half? Water. Playing with the kids? You guessed it: water!

Ditch the Carbs

Cut down on pasta, breads, and other high-starch and high-sugar foods for the best chance to lose weight. Being at home, you will be able to pick and choose what goes into your meals more, so make the most of it by playing around with different spices and ingredients to find meals you love without the extra pounds.

Clear Out Your Cupboards

Use your time at home to gather all those processed foods, junk, and sugary substances… and bin them! If you hate wasting food then, by all means, put them in a box to donate after the quarantine, but don’t consume them yourself. Use this time to start stocking up on healthy alternatives, especially fresh fruit and veg.

Use YouTube

You don’t have a dedicated personal trainer at home to offer advice like you would at a gym, so go for the next best thing! While at home you can use YouTube to find tutorials for exercise. You will find videos for all ages and fitness levels.

Lift and…Carry?

You most likely don’t have any weight sets at home like you’d find in your gym. Oh well, other items can be just as useful. Lift some tins or bowls, or even your child (safely!!!) to continue your weight training while stuck at home.

Staying home doesn’t have to mean weight gain. If you adapt to your surroundings and change things accordingly, you can still have that weight loss you wanted. So be creative and have fun!
