Whether you are trying to lose weight or just eat a little healthier, keeping hunger and cravings at bay is oftentimes needed to reach your goal. Staying satisfied throughout the day also means you can be more focused at work and can push harder at the gym.  But it’s not always easy, sometimes its a total struggle to eat what’s healthy and in healthy portions.

Fortunately, we made a list of appetite suppressing foods to help you out when you’re in that awkward situation. Don’t forget to include them on your grocery list an your meal plan. They’re all tasty and healthy. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Almonds

When you start to feel hungry or want a snack between meals, grab some almonds.The protein, unsaturated fat and fiber play a role in helping to curb appetite. Besides that they taste great!

Spicy Foods

Black pepper, chili pepper, cayenne or even hot sauce will do in cutting your appetite. Take note that the hotter the chiles are the more fat burning and appetite suppressing effect they have.

Salmon

This delicious salmon is really a treat!  It’s known to have high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and can actually help suppress your appetite. Whether you baked, roasted,  pan fried or even grilled, you’ll have what you want.

An extra large glass of water can be so helpful.  If you drink a glass of water when you begin to feel hungry, you’ll notice that your appetite decreases. It is because the water temporarily fills up your stomach.  There are also so many health benefits to staying hydrated.

Sweet potatoes are good alternatives to normal potatoes. It’s a great appetite suppressant due to the presence of a special kind of starch that resists digestive enzymes, keeping you feeling fuller longer and decreasing hunger.

And yes, the breakfast champion made the healthy eating list once again!   Eat some oatmeal, add  appetite-curbing toppings and you’ll have a super-satisfying meal keeping you full longer into the day!

Eggs may look boring but they really do a great job in cutting hunger. Have a couple of hearty eggs for breakfast to banish morning hunger and keep you feeling full.
