Clean and polish the exterior using a stainless steel spray or a bit of Bar Keeper’s Friend and wipe it with a microfiber towel or paper towel. Best dishwasher life hack I found is to have 2 dishwashers. One acts as a crockery/utensil cupboard supplying the clean items when needed while the other is loading up the filthy. Then when full, put that one on, it becomes the ‘cupboard’ and the now empty one becomes the filth box. Plus ot frees up your crockery and cutlery storage for other things.

I read to pour 2 oz of hydrogen peroxide into the dishwasher. I also use vinegar at same time. Makes for very sparkly finish. I have a huge bottle of food grade peroxide but you can use regular as it gets rinsed off. Of course kills bacteria also. I also use this to clean my refrigerator, love peroxide.
I also wash our toothbrushes every now and then in the dishwasher and my contact lens cases too.
