I grew up using a KitchenAid for almost everything. Whether that was making cookies, pie dough, or mashed potatoes. It seriously saved me time and made everything easy when making dishes. Also.. it never broke down; it was always so sturdy that it lasted for over 20 YEARS (my parents only replaced it because they wanted a new one).

Right now I don’t have room for a KitchenAid; we’re full-time travelers so that wouldn’t make any sense. However when I finally have a home base, you can bet that I’ll have one.. and I’m definitely trying out these KitchenAid hacks.

So feel free to check them out, let me know what you think, and be sure to head over to the original source!

(Psst.. you can get a KitchenAid here.. it’ll save you so much headache.)

Use a Towel to Contain Ingredients

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

One of the only things that makes me stand back from the KitchenAid when starting to mix, is when there’s a whole bunch of flour that might get on me (never does so I’m not sure why that’s a fear).. which is why I really like this hack.

Chill Your Bowl Before to Get Fluffier Whipped Cream

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

I’m not reallly an expert at whipped cream… but hopefully this easy trick can help me out.

Pasta Extruder Attachment

You can get this here!

Ok, so I’ve always wanted to make my own pasta, and that means as soon as I get a house, I’m buying this along with a KitchenAid (no joke).

Shred Chicken (or Pork) with Your KitchenAid

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

I’m not a huge fan of shredding meat with forks, so as you can imagine, I’m liking this tip.

You can find a KitchenAid here!

Use an Ice Cream Lid as a Splash Guard

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

We all seem to have random empty ice cream buckets hanging around for something right (storage I guess)? So why not finally put them to good use and cut the lid to fit the KitchenAid for splatter control?

Slide it Over More Easily with Towel

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

I kinda hate picking up the KitchenAid since it’s so heavy, so I end up trying to slide it which ends up making a weird (and annoying) thud noise. So this towel hack will definitely come in handy.

Try Using it in Multiple Ways for a Month

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

KitchenAid has a 30 day warranty, which means if something’s wrong, send it back for another. So try using it in any way you can for a month (at least a couple times a week) and see if anything needs fixing.

Store the Attachments for More Room (And Easy Access)

Found from The Krazy Coupon Lady

Now this is something I used to do all the time. I hated putting the dishes away after being cleaned, but the easiest thing to put away? The KitchenAid attachments cuz they went straight into the bowl.

If you don’t have a KitchenAid, then I’d definitely suggest you get one. They last FOREVER and they can do so much. They make things so much easier and faster when cooking (especially around the holidays). All you have to do is just dump the ingredients in and take care of something else while the KitchenAid does all the work.

You can get a KitchenAid here!

  1. I used to teach Wilton Cake Decorating classes for 10 years plus did cakes commercially (wedding, birthday etc) and only used on Kitchenaid. I had it repaired once but I still have it to this day and plan on handing it down to my son who has asked for it since I’m 75 now and don’t use it much. Time to pass the torch. I also have several of the attachments and they also work very well.

  2. This appliance is the BEST!! My son’s home was flooded out after a storm and my daughter in law was going to throw away the kitchenaid – but my son brought it to me – it was filled with mud! I took my time and cleaned it out and I got a mechanic to change out the grease in the motor! It’s been almost four years and it’s still going strong! I use it practically three times a week – no more store brought bread!!! I’m just sorry I didn’t get the other attachments too!

  3. I sewed a kitchen towel in the form of the base of my Kitchen aid so it stays on top of that for easy moving.
a cover made of jersey with elastic in the edge closes neatly and keeps everything dust-free. because it stretches it isn’t bulky

  4. I’m glad to learn the meat shredding trick. That’s always the worst part a pulled pork or chicken salad. My KitchenAid is Harvest Gold if that tells you anything. I bought it in the early 70’s and it is still going strong. Too bad all companies don’t put the quality into their products like KitchenAid does.

  5. If you make a lot of bread, you will want the heavier duty, more expensive model. I use mine a lot, but Kitchen Aid stand mixers don’t last forever, but they are repairable. I stripped the gears preparing for.my daughters graduation party. I found a person who could repair it, they said they already had the part from ordering extra gears for another Kitchen Aid mixer they had repaired. By the time I got home after dropping it off, they had called to let me know that the past they had was nylon while the same gear on mine is aluminum. I had to wait a few days for the repair, but it was worth it!

  7. I love my mixer, but I can’t whip anything in it. The beater head doesn’t go all the way to the bottom of the bowl. I guess it would work if I used a quart of two of heavy cream. Doesn’t reach for cake mixes either. I use it for dough .

  8. I love my KitchenAid. I keep it on an old typewriter table.. I can roll it into the corner of my kitchen when not in use.. The sides of the table let up to use as a shelf, to hold ingredients while mixing a cake. Great tips. Thanks. Clare

  9. My KitchenAid is about 25 years old now, and still running like a champ. I keep it on a plastic cutting board that has a cut-out handle. It is easy to slide it into and out of the corner where it lives.
