Eat Plenty of Protein

Compared to fats and carbs, your body burns protein slowly, making you feel full longer and prevents you from overeating. Also, it gives your metabolism a boost in a process called thermogenesis, where your body uses calorie intake for digestion. So try to incorporate some lean protein into meals throughout the day.

Brew Up Some Coffee

Coffee is one of the best drinks for weight loss because it boosts your metabolism. The caffeine that it contains increased fat burning and contributes to successful weight loss. Also, it’s rich in antioxidants which is essential in for your body. Make your coffee at home and skip the sweeteners.

Choose Whole Grains

Go for quality calories over the empty calories and choose whole grains. Compared to refined and processed grains, whole grains like brown rice, oatmeal, and quinoa, takes more energy to breakdown, helps your body absorb nutrients slowly and makes you feel full longer, which in turn, helps you avoid that mid-day hunger that leads to unhealthy snacking.

Have an Egg Yolk

While it’s already a given that egg whites are super low in calories and pretty much 100% fat-free while also containing nearly all the protein found in an egg, eating the entire egg is actually good for your metabolism. Especially the yolk; it’s a rich source of nutrients that includes fat soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids, and choline which promotes weight loss. Boil or poach them, add to your salad or other recipes, and you’ll start to notice your weight drop off.

Drink More Cold Water

Though it may sound cliche, drinking more water especially cold, can help increase your metabolism. This is because water automatically reduces your calorie intake and acts as a natural appetite suppressant keeping hunger at bay. Cold water also requires being heated up to body temperature when consumed so, in actual fact, the calorie-burning effect may increase if you drink cold water. (Source 1, Source 2)
